Can Tho University Makes Its Mark in Germany
Bayer Vietnam Ambassador
Đỗ Thanh Nhơn, a former student majoring in Crop Science, Cohort 44 at Can Tho University (CTU), was selected as the Bayer Safe Use Ambassador 2022. In 2023, he became the only representative from Vietnam and Can Tho University to visit and study at Bayer’s global headquarters in Germany.
During his visit to Bayer in Monheim, Nhơn had the great honor of meeting the company’s management team and distinguished professors. At this special gathering, he represented Can Tho University and presented a commemorative medal from the university to Bayer as a symbol of appreciation and connection between the two organizations.
More personally, Nhơn shared that he had planned to bring his CTU shirt to Germany as a way to proudly represent and “shout out” to his university. For him, seeing the CTU identity appear in Germany was not simply a gesture, but a personal dream come true.

Learning from Bayer in Germany
Throughout his journey in Germany, Nhơn had the opportunity to explore and learn about innovative approaches to modern agriculture and the importance of safe pesticide use.
Reflecting on his experience, he shared:
“At Bayer, they place great importance on the health and safety of farmers around the world. They invest heavily in technologies and equipment designed to make pesticide application safer and more efficient. Even the smallest details matter, from selecting the appropriate nozzles for spraying and cleaning equipment after use, to exploring closed-loop transportation systems that allow crop protection products to be transferred directly into application equipment.”
He was also impressed by the advanced technologies, facilities, and equipment at Bayer’s sites in Germany.
“The technology and equipment at Bayer in Germany are incredibly advanced and modern. It was a great honor for me to have the opportunity to visit, experience, and learn from such an innovative environment.”

Inspiring the Next Generation
Looking back on his experience as a Bayer Safe Use Ambassador, Nhơn hopes that future editions of the program will continue to attract more students from the College of Agriculture and Can Tho University.
He hopes that more students will have the opportunity to create meaningful memories, build international connections, and proudly represent CTU on the global stage.
“I sincerely hope that if future editions of the Bayer Safe Use Ambassador program take place, more students from the College of Agriculture will participate. Perhaps there will be more opportunities to present CTU commemorative medals to Bayer, and more CTU shirts will appear in Germany—or wherever your journey takes you.
If you receive a scholarship or have the opportunity to study abroad, don’t forget to bring your university shirt with you. Represent your school, share its story, and let it be seen around the world.
Good luck and Peace Out!”
